Wild names Flahr as Iowa GM
Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher issued a press release Wednesday (Sept. 30) naming Brent Flahr as the new General Manager of the Iowa Wilds, top minor league affiliate of the parent team.
Flahr has been the team’s Assistant General Manager since 2009. The release said Flahr has been heavily involved in player development and evaluation, crediting him with playing a role in some of the team’s biggest signings, such as Jonas Brodin, Matt Dumba, Mikael Granlund and Alex Tuch.
Flahr will now oversee all components of hockey operations for the Iowa squad which will open the 2015-16 American Hockey League schedule on Oct. 10.
