Saad pair helps Blue Jackets to win at Nasvhville

Brandon Saad is earning some big money with the Blue Jackets this season and he showed in the team’s latest pre-season test Tuesday (Sept. 29) the money was likely well spent.

Saad scored twice and added a couple of assists in a 5-2 win for the Blue Jackets at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

The Jackets trailed 1-0 halfway through the first period but rallied to tie it before the end of the frame and then added two unanswered second period goals and another two in the third before the Preds finally hit the net again with 6:07 to play.

Along with Saad, the Blue Jackets got a goal and two assists from Ryan Johansen and one of each from captain Nick Foligno. The other Blue Jackets goal came from Scott Hartnell and Sergei Bobrovsky made 35 saves to pick up the win in goal.

Preds goals came from Barret Jackman and Austin Watson and the work in goal was split by Pekka Rinne who stopped 12 of 14 in 32:27 and Carter Hutton who handled two of five in 23:10.

Saad, Johansen and Foligno were named in order as the game’s three stars.

Next action for the Blue Jackets will be Friday (Oct. 2) at Buffalo.
