Liarakos signs with FHL Prowlers

The Federal Hockey League’s Port Huron Prowlers have added forward Yianni Liarakos to its 2017-18 roster.

According to the team and league websites, Liarakos could be a major addition to the team offensively as he is coming off a record breaking season with the Blind River Beavers of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL).

Liarakos was the leading scoring in the Canadian Junior Hockey League – an umbrella comprising of all 10 of the nation’s Tier II Junior A hockey leagues. The 20-year-old Toronto native picked up 39 goals and added 39 assists in 54 games before adding another 25 points (12g, 13a) in 16 playoff games.

The 6’2”, 201 lbs. forward also played a year of junior with the Brampton Bombers of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL) the previous season.

The Prowlers are looking for big things from Liarakos beginning on Nov. 3 when the team opens on the road against the defending Commisioner’s Cup Champion Danville Dashers.
