Blue Jackets open camp with 63 hopefuls.

The Columbus Blue Jackets briefly celebrated its second consecutive win at the annual Traverse City NHL Prospects Tournament Sept. 15 and then headed to the opening of the Jackets’ 2015-16 NHL Training Camp.

Players arrived on Sept. 17 at the Ohio Health Ice Haus rink where like all teams, the first day involved physicals and fitness testing.

Players were divided into three teams for the opening days of camp and held practices and scrimmages through the first weekend.

The team was scheduled to face its first pre-season test early with the Pittsburgh Penguins paying a visit to the Nationwide Arena on Sept. 21 and the following day the team would divide into a pair of split squads for both home and away contests against the St. Louis Blues.

On Sept. 24, the Blue Jackets host the Minnesota Wild wrapping up the team’s first full week of camp.
