Force trades for Van Whye and Farmer

FARGO, ND (Courtesy Fargo Force) – The Fargo Force have acquired two players in a trade with the Muskegon Lumberjacks. Forward Garrett Van Wyhe and defenseman Ty Farmer were acquired in exchange for forward Michael Graham.

Van Wyhe, a forward out of Seattle, WA, just finished up his first year in the USHL with Muskegon playing in 57 games. He tallied 21 total points with nine goals and 12 assists. In 2017 post season play, he played in four games with one assist. He spent the season prior in the NAHL with the Wichita Falls Wildcats where he posted 30 points (12g, 18a) in 57 games played. He is committed to play at Army West Point following his junior hockey career.

Ty Farmer, a defenseman out of O’Fallon, MO, was tendered in 2014 by the Youngstown Phantoms. He played parts of two seasons for them before being traded to Muskegon half way through the 2016-17 season. Throughout 87 games with the Phantoms, he tallied 15 points and finished with an overall plus/minus rating of +12. After being acquired by the Lumberjacks last season, he played in 24 regular season games scoring three goals and adding six assists with an overall plus/minus rating of +10. He was also named the USHL Defenseman of the week in the final week of the regular season. Farmer is committed to Michigan State University.

“We are excited to add two veteran players to our roster”, said head coach Cary Eades. “Garrett is a big, strong power forward with a 200 foot game. Ty is a player I’m very familiar with as I coached him on USA National team three summers ago. He’s got a big heart and right handed defensemen are hard to find.”

Michael Graham played parts of two seasons with the Force after finishing his final season at Eden Prairie High School in Minnesota where he was captain in his senior season, 2015-16. This past season Graham picked up 18 points (10g, 8a) in 31 games with the Force. He is already committed to attend the University of Notre Dame.
