The Chippewa Steel scored twice in 28 seconds early in the second period on its way to a 4-3 win against the visiting Anchorage Wolverines in North American Hockey League Midwest Division play and a rare Thursday night contest at the Chippewa Area Ice Arena.

All of the scoring took place in the first 40 minutes, teams even at 1-1 after a period and those two quick goals for the Steel came in the opening three minutes of the second period.

Chippewa goals came from Braden Lindstrom (’01/Wyandotte, MI); Ryan Waltman (’01/South Bend, IN); Michael Harrel (’02/Frisco, TX) and Ethan Janda (’02/Brighton, MI) and Levi Gho (’02/Fairbanks, AK) stopped 23 shots to pick up the win in goal.

The win boosted the Steel to 5-2 and into a second place tie in the division standings with Springfield Jr. Blues and Minnesota Magicians and one point behind the Fairbanks Ice Dogs.
