to getting started.”
“Vinnie has a great eye for talent and most importantly brings accountability to all guys at the draft table,” said Steve Lowe, President of Hockey Operations. “He’s very sure in his opinions and an unbelievable family man. I couldn’t be happier for an honest, hard-working man.”
Lowe added that Montalbano was instrumental in drafting forward Monte Graham and trading for defenseman John Marino, both key contributors to the Storm’s 2016 Clark Cup championship team. “He knew the families and helped bring them to Kearney,” Lowe explained.
On this season’s team, Lowe said Montalbano helped bring forward Joey Cipollone and goalie Joe Sharib into the fold.
Montalbano worked with the St. Louis Blues as an amateur scout from 2010-17. Since 2014, he has been the General Manager of the Connecticut Jr. Rangers of the USPHL and previously served as the team’s coach. Montalbano has also worked with the U.S. National Team Development Program and the U.S. Director of Central Scouting for the QMJHL.
