Miuri’s OT game winner pulls Hawks even with Musketeers

Yuki Miura scored the biggest goal of his junior career Friday (April 30, 2017), lifting the visiting Waterloo Black Hawks to a 2-1 overtime win against the host Sioux City Musketeers in United States Hockey League West Conference Final action at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City.

Miuri’s goal ended 58:10 of shutout hockey as both teams scored in the opening 8:37 of the contest before goalies, Robbie Beydoun of the Black Hawks and Matiss Kivlenieks of the Musketeers took the game over.

Beydoun picked up with win, turning aside 30 of 31 Musketeer shots while Kivlenieks turned in a solid effort as well, handling 33 of 35.

Jacob Wilson opened the scoring with the only goal Sioux City would muster 3:52 into the contest and Alex Limoges tied it up for Waterloo with his first of the post season a little less than five minutes later.

The win for Waterloo evened the Best of Five Series at 1-1 and the Black Hawks will play host to the next pair, at Young Arena, beginning on Friday (May 5).
