Look at the future?

On Saturday night I made the trip from my home in the Wisconsin Dells area to the Twin Cities area to take in a few hockey games.

While there, we were sort of horsing around with our cell phones and ended up getting some pretty cool game footage at the games we attended — including the celebration and handshakes from both of the MnJHL’s Minnesota Division semis.

For anyone paying attention — and I am not sure if anybody is — I have once again fallen off of the wagon in terms of regular updates. Heck, the one  before this is a pre-season look at the Columbus Blue Jackets, written some five months ago.

But being able to put these vids on social media as we did on Saturday made me realize how huge a day like that would have been if I had Midwest Hockey News up and running the way I wanted to. It would have been kind of neat to have had some of that stuff. If I was actually going for that kind of stuff, I might have stayed a few extra minutes at each and picked up a comment or two from coaches or players.

I have also picked up a subscription to the company that provides video for almost all of the junior hockey video from the midwest and I already subscribe to the NHL online as well. It just seems like with a little effort, I could have this working just as I always hoped.

I hope to redouble my efforts now as a result of this inspiration and if anyone is actually reading this, expect some updates on all levels of Midwest Hockey in the days ahead.

Here’s hoping this latest inspiration is the one that gets this machine off of the starting line and into the race. What great timing for it too.
