Former Habs draft pick, MacMillan, joins Wichita Thunder
The ECHL’s Wichita Thunder added another forward to its pre-season roster Tuesday (Sept. 5, 2017) with the signing of Mark MacMillan, a 25-year-old forward from British Columbia.
The Thunder, affiliate of the Bakersfield Condors from the American Hockey League and Edmonton Oilers of the NHL added MacMillan, a Fourth Round (113th Overall) Selection of the Montreal Canadiens in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
After graduating from North Dakota University, where he collected 99 points (46g, 53a) in 151 games in the spring of 2015, MacMillan split time between the St. John’s Ice Caps of the AHL (62g, 6-11-17) and the ECHL’s Brampton Beast (6g, 2-3-5) in 2015-16 and then returned to St. Johns last season where he collected 13 points (6g, 7a) in 58 games
MacMillan played his junior hockey with the Penticton Vees and Alberni Valley Bulldogs of the BCHL.
