Comrie leads Moose past Wild in pre-season opener

In the first of two pre-season matches between the Manitoba Moose and Iowa Wild to be played in North Dakota, it was goaltender Eric Comrie leading the Moose to a 3-0 win with a 27-save shutout at Grand Forks.

The Minnesota Wild American affiliate couldnt’ find an opening past Comrie who backstopped Moose, top affiliate of the Winnipeg Jets to the win Friday (Oct. 2) at Ralph Engelstad Arena.

Scott Kosmachuk, Axel Blomqvist and Brock Trotter scored the goals for the Moose and the goaltending work for the Wild was shared by Steven Michalek and Brody Hoffman who combined to stop 17 of 20 shots.

The same two teams will square off again Saturday (Oct 3) moving east to Fargo to play the second and final pre-season tuneup for both teams.
