Wolves trim to make season opening roster.
With its two pre-season games finished, the short training camp for the Chicago Wolves moved into regular season mode Sunday (Oct. 4).
To get to 24, the Wolves re-assigned or released 15 players.
The Wolves released: forwards Sergei Barbashev; Zach Cohen; Dan DeSalvo; Jaedon Descheneau; Alexandre Mallet; Joe Perry; Luke Sandler and Collin Valcourt; defensemen Austin Coldwell; Evan Renwick; Joe Sova and Mike Vernace and goaltender Sebastien Auger.
The team sent winger Ryan Tesink and goaltender Niklas Lundstrom to the Quad City Mallards of the ECHL.
The remaining 24 players (14 forwards, eight defensemen and two goaltenders) will now prepare for the American Hockey League opener for the Wolves, Saturday (Oct. 10) at the Allstate Arena against rival Milwaukee Admirals.
