Wild drop six juniors from training camp roster

Given a brief glimpse of life on a National Hockey League team, the Minnesota Wild sent six players back to their junior hockey teams on Monday (Sept. 21), three defensemen and three forwards.

Gustav Bouramman –  an 18-year-old defenseman from Stockholm, Sweden was selected by the Wild in the Seventh Round (201st Overall) of the NHL Entry Draft this past summer. He will return for a second season with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in the OHL and will likely be a key player on Team Sweden at the World Junior Hockey Championship tournament at Helsinki, Finland in December.

Tanner Faith – A 19-year-old defenseman from Saskatchewan, selected by the Wild in the Fifth Round (139th Overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. He will return for his fourth full season with the Kootenay Ice in the WHL.

Hunter Warner – A 20-year-old defenseman from Cambridge, MN. Warner will return for a second season with the Prince Albert Raiders in the WHL.

Reid Duke –  A 19-year-old center from Alberta was selected by the Wild in the Sixth Round (169th Overall) at the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. He will return for a third season of play in the WHL, joining the Brandon Wheat Kings where he was traded from Lethbridge early last season.

Chase Lang – A 19-year-old center from British Columbia, selected by the Wild in the Sixth Round (167th Overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Lang will return for his fourth season with the Calgary Hitmen of the WHL.

Jack Walker – A 19-year-old forward from Edina, MN. Walker will return for a fourth season with the Victoria Royals of the WHL.

The cuts drop the total number of players in camp for the Wild to 52 — 28 forwards; 15 defensemen and seven goaltenders along with a pair of players injured at the start of camp.
