Tri-City Storm still well represented in minor pro playoffs

Kearney, Neb. (Courtesy Tri-City Storm) – Five former Storm players remain the ECHL and AHL postseason. The ECHL is in the conference finals and the AHL is close to concluding the second round.

ECHL’s Toledo is tied, 1-1, with Colorado in the best-of-seven Western Conference Finals and Walleye blueliner Simon Denis has three points since returning from an upper-body injury. Out east, Manchester forwards Mario Puskarich and Daniel Doremus have built a 2-1 lead against South Carolina. Doremus has two game-winning goals in the Kelly Cup Playoffs.

In the AHL’s Calder Cup Playoffs, goalie Pheonix Copley and Hershey lead, 3-2, against Providence in the best-of-seven Atlantic Division Finals. Copley left Game 4 with a lower-body injury, sat out game five, and remains day-to-day. Toronto’s Trevor Moore has scored one goal in the second round vs. Syracuse and the Marlies play game seven Wednesday. San Jose eliminated former Storm goalie Kevin Boyle (San Diego) on Saturday.

Western Conference Finals: Toledo (Simon Denis) tied with Colorado, 1-1.

Eastern Conference Finals: Manchester (Mario Puskarich, Daniel Doremus) leads South Carolina (Jared Shafran – broadcaster), 2-1.

AHL Bracket – 2nd round

Hershey (Pheonix Copley) leads Providence, 3-2.
Toronto (Trevor Moore) tied with Syracuse, 3-3.
