Rivermen add Neville and Leon to Training Camp roster

Nick Neville got a taste of hockey with the Peoria Rivermen in the SPHL last season and will be back for more this fall.

Neville, a 23-year-old, 5’10”; 172 lbs. defenseman from Bloomfield Hills, finished at University of Denver and began his pro career with South Carolina of the ECHL last season before moving to Peoria where he played seven regular season games and picked up four points (1g, 3a). In the post season, Neville played seven more games, adding another assist to his totals.

The Rivermen announced Neville’s signing on the league website Thursday (Aug. 31, 2017) along with another addition in rookie goaltender Matt Leon.

The 25-year-old goaltender from North Carolina, finished his College Hockey career at Geneseo in the SUNY Conference last year and hopes to make his pro debut with the Rivermen this fall.

Leon appeared in 11 games with Geneseo, posting a stingy 1.76 Goals Against Average and a Save Percentage of .935 last season.
