Playoff plan

This is as good a time as any to jump back into the fray. My plan this time is to release articles with companion YouTube vids over the next few days, hopefully wrapping up at the end of the weekend. I will have separate items for Pro and Junior and maybe even break it down a little further. Here is a tentative item list.

Pro — First an update on each league as they all race toward the regular season finish line — highlighting the chances (or lack thereof) of the Midwest-based entries. For the NHL teams I want to update where the team is at as in, are they hot right now or fading? How have the Trade Deadline pick ups or send offs worked out and what are some key games ahead.

I will do similar bits for the Midwest teams in the American Hockey League, East Coast Hockey League, Southern Professional Hockey League and the Federal League.

Junior — I will start at Tier I as the Ontario Hockey League and United States Hockey League are wrapping up respective regular seasons in the days ahead. I will preview the upcoming playoff series and hope to have in depth pieces on each game when they begin.

Tier 2 Junior Leagues include the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League which is about to begin its Conference semi-final playoff round and the Superior International Junior Hockey League which wraps up its regular season on the weekend. Also, the North American Hockey League is closing in on the regular season wrap up with exciting playoff sets close behind.

Tier 3 Juniors include the United States Premiere Hockey League which wrapped up its post season last weekend and both the North American 3 Hockey League and the Western States Hockey League, both about to drop the puck on the second season.

Time permitting — and there never seems enough — I am also hoping to take a quick look at the College tournaments as well — with an emphasis on the Midwest squads of course.

Just writing this makes me realize once again I have bitten off a huge chunk once again. I am hoping to basically ‘catch up’ and then do daily or bi weekly updates the rest of the way.

Here we go again!
