Midwest well represented at CCM/USA Hockey all-American Prospects Game

The USHL is well represented as USA Hockey recently released the list of players that will be taking part in the annual CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game.

The who’s who of players that will be among the top prospects for next summer’s NHL Entry Draft next summer in Dallas, includes several who took part in the recently played Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament on Team USA U-18 Selects.

The Midwest Region is also well-represented at each position with two of the four goaltenders; eight of the 14 defensemen and 16 of the 24 forwards named to the group that will be split in half on Teams Chelios and Leetch.

The two NHL legends, Chris Chelios and Brian Leetch will select their teams from these players and then act as head coaches in the game that will be played at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, home of the NHL’s Buffalo Sabres.

This will be the fifth year for the Prospects Game which has had notables such as Jack Eichel, Zach Werenski, Seth Jones and a host of others that went on to fame in the NHL. NHL teams selected 24 players from last season’s roster in the NHL Draft this past summer.

Of the 42 players listed this season – 32 are already included on 2017-18 USHL rosters and all but two in the game have made NCAA Division 1 College commitments.
