Late goals lift Brahmas past Jets into NAHL Robertson Cup

After a pair of scoreless periods, the Janesville Jets’ season came down to a rough finish and a 3-1 loss to the Lone Star Brahmas as the Essentia Health Duluth Heritage Center on Friday (May 12, 2017).

Both teams scored in the first four minute of the third period, Pete Kessel getting the Brahmas on the board at the 2:44 mark only to have Kip Hoffman tie it up for the Jets with his ninth goal of the post season a little more than a minute later.

A powerplay goal by Drake Glover with just 93 seconds to play stood up as the game winner for the Brahmas with Kessel firing his second of the game and sixth of the playoffs into an empty net with 38 seconds to go clinching the victory.

Max Prawdzik turned aside 20 shots to pick up the win in goal for the Brahmas while Jacob Barczewski stopped 31 shots in goal for the Jets.

The win eliminated the Jets in the semis and vaulted the Brahmas into the Robertson Cup championship game on Sunday (May 14).
