Iron Rangers wrap up weekend with win at T-Bay

The Minnesota Iron Rangers grabbed a 3-2 win at Thunder Bay Sunday (Sept. 27) to wrap up a 2-1 weekend, including a pair of wins against the North Stars.

The Iron Rangers scored a goal in each period with Eric Madison, 20, from St. Paul, MN notching both a tying goal five seconds from the end of the second period and the game winner 84 seconds into the final frame.

Gus Karkinen, 20, from Hoyt Lakes, MN  scored the other Iron Ranger goal, opening the scoring at the 10:02 mark of the opening period and Bryce Kamenick, 19, from Eau-Claire, WI turning aside 33 of 35 North Star shots to nail down the win in goal.

Avery Siau, 17, from Ontario and Kenny Turner, 20, from Thunder Bay scored the North Star goals and goaltender Riley Corbin, 20, from Thunder Bay made 33 saves.

The Iron Rangers have played five of its first six on the road will stay on the road with games at Dryden and Fort Frances Friday (Oct. 2) and Saturday respectively.
