Iron Rangers begin SIJHL quest

The Minnesota Iron Rangers from Hoyt Lakes, MN, will make its first of many trips across the Canadian Border on Sept. 18 as it opens play in the Superior International Junior Hockey League at Ear Falls Arena in English River Ontario against the host Miners.

The Iron Rangers are one of five teams in the SIJHL, a Canadian Tier II Junior Hockey League. The other four are all based in Northwestern Ontario.

The Iron Rangers will play Friday, Saturday and Sunday games at English River and then play its first home game at the Hoyt Lakes Arena Sept. 25 against the Thunder Bay North Stars before hitting the road for another pair on the road.

Fort Frances Lakers are the defending League champions, defeating the Dryden Ice Dogs last spring.
