Wild comes up empty against Oilers

The Minnesota Wild played a neutral site pre-season game at Saskataoon, SK against the Edmonton Oilers Saturday (Sept.26) and came up on the short end of a 3-0 shutout.

Anton Slepyshev, Rob Klinkhammer and Oscar Klefbom scored the Edmonton goals and Connor McDavid collected assists on two of them while Anders Nilsson turned aside 25 shots to pick up the shutout in goal.

Darcy Kuemper turned aside 27 shots for the Wild, playing in his hometown and Eric Haula scored 24-seconds into a 3-on-3 overtime trial held after the match, although it was obviously unnecessary.

The Wild will play on home ice tomorrow night (Oct. 27) against the Winnipeg Jets.
