Wild adds a couple to roster

The Minnesota Wild made a couple of roster moves Thursday(Oct. 1) — additions rather than deletions.

First, the team recalled Zac Dalpe from the Iowa Wild in Des Moines after reassigning him Sept. 27. Dalpe, who has 117 NHL games to his credit with Carolina, Vancouver and Buffalo is likely to be used in the Wild lineup tonight (Oct. 1) against the Buffalo Sabres.

The Wild also added Chris Porter to its roster after claiming him on waivers.

A 31-year-old, 6’2,” 205 lbs. forward from Toronto, ON was originally selected in the Ninth Round (282nd Overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackawks but when he finished his fourth year at University of North Dakota, in 2007, he moved on to play with the St. Louis Blues organization. He remained with the Blues, playing in 181 NHL games and 322 AHL contests, until this past summer when he signed with the Philadelphia Flyers organization.

The Flyers were likely hoping to send Porter to its own minor league affiliate when the Wild snapped him off of the waiver wire.
