Roster moves for Wild
The Wild made what are likely its final roster moves of the pre-season Friday (Oct. 2), returning Zac Dalpe to the Iowa Wild along with forward Brett Bulmer and defenseman Tyson Strachan.
Dalpe had been set to Iowa earlier but was called up to play in the final pre-season game for the Wild last night.
Bulmer, a 23-year-old, 6’4,” 212 lbs. forward from Prince George, BC was selected in the Second Round (39th Overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Wild. Other than five games with the Wild, he has played exclusively with the AHL affiliate (first in Houston and now Iowa) since finishing his junior career with the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League in 2011-12.
Last year at Iowa, Bulmer played 53 games and picked up 16 points (4g, 12a) and 50 minutes in penalties.
Stachan, a 30-year-old, 6’3,” 216 lbs. defenseman from Melfort SK was a Fifth Round (137th Overall) Selection by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
His career so far includes 184 NHL games with St. Louis, Florida, Washington and Buffalo as well as 282 American Hockey League games at Albany, Peoria, San Antonio, Hersey and now Iowa. Last season, Strachan played 46 games with the Buffalo Sabres and notched five assists along with 44 penalty minutes.
With these moves, the Wild now has 24 players in camp — meeting the NHL requirement with a 13 forwards, eight defensemen and three goaltenders.
