Iowa Wild picks up league honors
The Iowa Wild proudly announced on its team website recently its selection as the AHL Western Conference’s recipient of the award for Best Fan Experience at all of its home games.
“Everything that we do is for our fans, which we believe to be the best in the AHL,” said Iowa Wild President Todd Frederickson in a website story. “Their great passion for Iowa Wild hockey fuels our staff and provides energy to a hard-working group of individuals.
“Our staff works diligently to make sure Iowa Wild fans have the best experience possible. As an organization, it is an honor to be named for Outstanding Fan Experience. It certainly raises the bar for us and we gladly accept the challenge. With a brand new video board system installation set for August, we expect our fan experience to go to an entirely different level of enjoyment this October.”
The Wild also received a trio of sales awards at the AHL Marketing Meetings in Scottsdale, AZ earlier this summer. The team was handed achievement awards for an increase in full season tickets (above 10% growth), 500 new full season-ticket equivalents and over 10% in corporate sales.
In other recent news, the parent Minnesota Wild announced it has re-signed its agreement with the Quad City Mallards of the ECHL reuniting the triumverate of Minnesota-Iowa-Quad City for another season.
