Force names Lamoureux Associate Head Coach

FARGO, NORTH DAKOTA (Courtesy Fargo Force) — The Fargo Force coaching staff have announced that Pierre-Paul Lamoureux has been named the Associate Head Coach effective immediately.

Lamoureux returns to Fargo after coaching in the Western Hockey League with the Red Deer Rebels for one year during the 2016-17 season. He worked with Fargo during the 2015-16 season as an assistant coach and director of scouting.

“We are thrilled to welcome Pierre-Paul back to the Force family,” said head coach Cary Eades. “His passion for hockey, knowledge of the defensive position, and innovative ideas on systems and drills will enhance our coaching staff and players. Additionally, Lammy’s motor is always running and that work ethic is something our organization values and is an integral part of our Force culture.”

Following his 2015-16 year with the Force, Lamoureux joined Red Deer on the bench for the 2016-17 season and helped the Rebels to a 30-29-13 record and a spot in the 2017 WHL playoffs. Red Deer was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs, losing in game seven to the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to return to Fargo and work with the players and staff,” said Lamoureux. “I had a great experience two years ago with the Force. There is a sense of loyalty and pride within the organization. Having a chance to work with high level players, with high expectations, creates a competitive environment that allows for growth. I’m excited for the challenges ahead and look forward to getting to work.”

Lamoureux graduated from University of North Dakota’s School of Law in May of 2015. Lamoureux spent six seasons (2009-2015) with the University of North Dakota Men’s Hockey Team as a Student Assistant & Grad Assistant Coach. During that time he completed his B.S. in Business Management, and in May of 2015 he completed his Juris Doctor at the UND School of Law. In addition to working with UND Hockey, Lamoureux was a Hockey Operations Intern & Part-Time Scout for the Calgary Flames for four seasons.

The coaching position became available when former associate head coach, Byron Pool, accepted a coaching position with Northern Michigan University’s division 1 men’s hockey team.
