Cyclones looking for offensive boost from Day Chief
Cincinnati Cyclones added a forward to its roster on Wednesday (Sept. 6, 2017), looking to add a little offense to the squad affiliated with the American Hockey League’s Rochester Americans and the Buffalo Sabres of the NHL.
Winston Day Chief, 29, is a veteran of the CHL/ECHL having played four full seasons with the Rapid City Rush before heading overseas to play for MAC Budapest in Romania last season.
Day Chief, from Alberta, collected 16 points (5g, 11a) in 13 games played last season. His four seasons in Rapid City were split – two in the CHL where he appeared in 95 games and collected 75 points (35g, 40a) and then two more in the ECHL where he played 107 games and picked up 74 points (28g, 46a).
Day Chief played NCAA Division 1 at the University of Alaska in 2007-08 before switching to Canadian University hockey at the University of Lethbridge for three seasons. He also played a couple of seasons of junior with the Cowichan Valley Capitals of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL).
